CHALLENGES
  • Our client faced challenges in producing its institutional reports, characterized by manual, slow, and error-prone processes. The objective of this project was to modernize the BI platform to automate reporting processes, improve data quality, and support strategic decision-making.

  • To achieve this, a robust ecosystem based on Microsoft Azure was deployed, including Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, and Power BI, while integrating data from CRM systems such as Blackbaud. The main challenge was to provide interactive dashboards to track key indicators related to philanthropic and institutional activities, while reinforcing data governance and compliance.
SOLUTION

Collaboration with stakeholders:

  • Workshops were conducted to define business needs and identify strategic indicators.
  • Development of tabular data models to structure and organize information within Azure.

Technological development:

  • Integration of CRM data into Azure Synapse, fed by automated data flows from multiple sources.
  • Design and development of 31 dashboards, including indicators for fund collection, donation usage, and donor engagement.

Standardization and governance:

  • Deployment of DataCookbook to document data, ensure quality, compliance, and traceability.
  • Organization of training sessions for internal teams to ensure knowledge transfer.
